The Nebraska Fur Harvesters was recently invited to attend in their R3 summit meeting. I was fortunate to represent our organization for the day. The event was hosted at Mahoney State Park between Lincoln and Omaha.
In addition to NG&P there were over 40 outdoor use groups represented. The R3 program was established to introduce persons to the outdoors and retain their interest. Seven different divisions of the state G&P reported during the early portion of the event. Mission goals were stated, recent achievements were reported and future projects on the drawing board were explained. I am certain most people do not realize everything they are doing in conjunction with outdoor groups. The list seemed endless, and they deserve a pat on the back.
I was able to extend invitations to several groups to attend our fall convention in Chadron. Time will tell.
