Nebraska Fur Harvesters Convention Update

The days continue to slip by! The Nebraska Fur Harvesters fall convention will be here before we realize it. September 26th and 27th will be here before one realizes it. Chadron Nebraska is looking forward to our arrival and Mark Ross and Dave Hastings continue to build upon an extremely solid convention foundation.

These supporters are stepping forward to help defend our way of life through their donations.

As additional support is shown I will do everything possible to express our gratitude.

The demo list is shown at other locations on this site. In addition to those listed more are being arranged. Jenna Malinowski will be giving a lady only trapping demo during the two-day event.

Special youth activities are being arranged at this time. Joe Rydel of Nebraska Game and Parks will be arranging the activities for our future generation.

With a special summit meeting being hosted during the weekend in support of defending out way of life representatives of Fur Takers, National Trappers Association, Sportsmen’s Alliance and well over a dozen consumptive use groups will be in attendance.

Mark Ross has arranged to have a mountain Man camp setup on site. These reenactors will have their dress and items used to survive during the early western fur trade era.

As I have said in the past, this year’s convention will be one for the record books! Historic area, Knowledgeable committee, Outstanding facilities so what more could one ask for?

There will be many more additions to each of the lists before the gate opens.

Like many others I have spoken with I plan on heading there several days early. The Museum of the Fur Trade is very close to the grounds, MT Rushmore is a couple of hours away and the Black Hills are a sight to be seen.

I look forward to seeing everyone in Chadron!
